 The Vermuyden Challenge – Starts at 7:30am & 9am

Vermuyden Ultra; 2 laps = 42 Miles - Start at 7.30am, with registration and kit check from 6.30am-7.15am and race briefing at 7.20am.

Vermuyden Classic; 1 lap = 21 Miles - Start 9am, with registration and kit check from 7.45am-8.45am and race briefing at 8.50am.

Both events are aimed at anyone suitably prepared and trained to take the challenge – from the novice to those experienced Ultra runners. The route will be signed and marked periodically with confidence tape. Feed stations with water and simple food will be provided. Marshalls will be positioned at key points and checkpoints around the course. A Map and Route Description will be provided to all participants. The cut off time for finishers is 6pm, which gives the Ultra runners 10.5 hours to complete the 42 mile challenge. Pacers are not allowed, but a support team can provide assistance with kit changes etc… on the route.

With the route navigating the paths and bridleways of the Isle of Axholme and a number of the waterways developed by Vermuyden, it doesn’t include great ascents of mountains, but it is still essential to pack certain bits of kit for such a long distance challenge. We recommend the following as a minimum for the challenge;
Hat/gloves, Jacket, Water bottle/Cup, quality Head Torch (for the Ultra), Food (gels, bars etc..). We also recommend spare gloves, tights (leg cover) as it is November, a charged mobile phone, GPS watch/device, neck sleeve.

Turbary Tinsel 10k Trail Race – Starts 10:45am

Follow the route marked out with Christmas Tinsel and the occasional Elf..............and you can also run through a Santas Grotto! Get into the Christmas spirit either running for a best time or a prize for fancy dress (optional).
Earn that mince pie at the finish and warm up on the mulled wine.

Fun Run will start at 10:15am and will cost £2 with entry on the day.
